About Us

Big Bear River Resort is a 25-acre campground nestled along the banks of the Niangua River in Lebanon, Missouri. Everyone from avid campers to those who prefer cabin comforts will enjoy a memorable stay at Big Bear.

The campground, open year round, boasts riverfront primitive campsites, RV hookups, dry and wet cabins, hot showers and clean bathrooms, plus a variety of rentals for floating the river.

In 2021, Ronny and Michelle Berry ushered in the Big Bear era when they purchased the property formerly known as One-Eyed Willy’s. The Berrys are excited to welcome back devoted campers and to meet new members of the Big Bear extended family.

Michelle and Ronny chose to honor the Ozarks’ ancestral history by christening the campground with a meaningful new name. The Osage Nation, whose native name translates to “People of the Middle Waters,” have populated the Ozarks for hundreds of years. The Niangua, a 125-mile tributary of the Osage River, means “bear” in the tribe’s language. Thus, Big Bear River Resort was born.

Before you settle in, please visit the resort’s main office to see the freshly painted wall murals of a stunning river landscape featuring the black bears native to Missouri. There you will also find snacks and drinks for purchase, along with resort merchandise and floating accessories like dry bags. Essential camping supplies, firewood and Saturday morning breakfast may be purchased closer to the riverfront at Mama Bear’s Mini Mart.

Come, stay and explore. Big Bear River Resort is where the campfires may fade but the memories never will.
